My two kids encounter this issue too.    We went to chinese medical hall to buy the "wong khor jai" or malay name it buah kuning.    Just boil it with water and let ur baby bath in it, eventhough after boiling the buah, the water will be in yellowish in colour.    Mine kids bath 2 days only and the jaundice started to decrease...

My sugguestion is do not use Guiness and bath your baby, as i think my hubby mother also did the same thing, so now my hubby become very dark.

if your baby is a bit yellow, then you can go to any chinese herb shop, and buy those medicine for baby to shower.    1 pack is only RM 1.00, can use for 2 times, just boiled it, then mix with water then help your baby to shower. i forgot the medicine name, you can just enquire the chinese herb shop, they are able to help you.

but my 2nd use to bath with guniess stout when around 1week, so far his skin complexion is very good compare with his bro. But i did heard people said before, eat a lot of birdnest when pregnant time will make bb skin become sensitive and always get rashes, but i am not very sure.
Hi, my baby gal now jz 5days only. Then I heard ppl said if bath with guinness stout will less jangkit jaundise (yellow skin ). If tat true? My baby now got a little yellow.
My opinion, centuries, people use guniess stout or bittergourd vine to bath newborn. Not sure if this can cure jaundice. But not harm to bath your newborn with guniess stout or bittergourd vive. Please continue/try to breastfed your baby and if you consume ginger, please stop temporary until your baby jaundice is gone. The best is like what chandra did. or Put you baby near window where she can get sunlight and if possible without clothes...
hi, my baby also got jaundice when she was 3 day old.i bring her back to do a blood test to check her bilirubin level,it was very high,my paediatrician advised me to admit her for photo therapy for 24 hour and stop breastfeeding.(i was total breastfeed my daughter).the next day the bilirubin level was drop to the normal level.it is normal to have jaundice during breastfeeding, and breastfeeding will delay jaundice.i was breast feed my daughter til she 2 month old only.
i suggest do not used Guinness stout to bath baby, coz it is contain alcohol.baby skin will become dry.it is not good for baby skin.listen too many of "ppl say"will make us confused.any thing that i not sure or ?? i will bring her to see doc.
yup, i agreed with richma, for any puzzle on your baby, bring them to see doctor first.    Just to share my experience, my 1st bb, got jaundice, but need not admit for phototheraphy doctor ask me to put her under the morning sun (which i did but not constant) and my MIL bath her with bittergourd vine (to get rid of jaundice), later on my mom batch with guiness stout (to get rid of rashes), i don't know how effective, however; her jaundice clear after 1 - 2 week in her 1st month born and her rashes clear after few months old.    My 2nd bb, detected with high level jaundice, admitted for phototherapy for 2 days and her bilirubin level drop to normal level, before doctor discharge my bb, she remind us many times not to bath bb with any herbal or guiness stout, according to her, all bb skin is very tender and sensitive to all type of herbal bath other than the clean water. my doctor she added further that we are not sure that the collection process of the herbal is hygiene,    like bitterguord, we never know whether it is organically grow or they put fertilizer during the growing process.

My MIL was so happy after see the result and next time she will allow us to bath future baby with this plant.

so far i known, fu gua teang is used for babies that have jaundice. i've not known whether it can cure rashes or not.

btw, rashes is cause by body too heaty from milk or from dirt. give your bb more plain water and wipe your bb's face clean with cooled boiled water and terry cloth after feeding.
