I had my CL from SHL recently, the CL inrresponsible and not clean interm of cleanliness, just wondering u hv experience with the CL there b4? and the CL cut the hole of my bb feeding bottle ,the milk flow faster so shorten down the time of feeding, so terrible. and many many....some i found out after she left. is a nightmare. just wondering why got good command? |

I am a new member and glad to join the chat. I am expecting now and my EDD is Dec 24 2008. I really had hard time to search for good and reliable confinement lady. Do you believe that I was nearly cheated two weeks ago coz 1 CL asked me to pay her 1k for deposit and I paid.... and after paying she says " oh... your EDD is near CNY and I only realise that now, may need to increase the price or reduce the day". FYI, CNY is on 26 Jan 2009.
I am seriously seeking your help to recommend a good one. I am totally lost.... and my confidence level on CL is becoming lower and lower. I called Kam Cheh (Terengannu) yesterday and still need to hear from you who have experience with her. Hope to receive your favourable reply.

Hi Mummy,
Why don't you guys consider going to confinement home. During CNY, CL charges double sometimes. In confinement home it is only RM300 extra or something like this. I was in CH in Island Glades called "De Garden" (04-6587332). Food was excellent and the evironment was good. On top of it all the nannies was local and I could rest as much. Check it out. Just relying on one person to attend to all these can be tiring and stressful for both mother and baby. |

Hi, nglleng.
I had just delivered a bb boy on 28.08.2008 and it is now my 11th day in confinement. I am from KL but my CL is from Kedah. I booked her as early as in March through recommendation from another CL who could not make it on my EDD.
She follows Teow Chew customs (my husband is Teow Chew) but she is also flexible about other customs or requests. I remember on the 1st day of her arrival, she shared about her confinement ways and said that if we have other confinement ways ie. food, pantangs, etc, she could do as our requests.
Here are basically her main chores:-
- Fully take care of my bb boy, ie. feeding, bathing, nappy change, handwash bb napkins & bb clothes
- Fully take care of me ie. cook confinement food, prepare bath waters, teach and help me with breasfeeding coz i am first time mother, etc.
Besides that, she also cooks for my husband and sis in law. She helps with house chores too but I told her that it would be our second priority and only do it when she could. Basically, she sweeps & mop the floor daily and do the laundry for us. We have a washing machine so she put the laundry in, hangs them to dry and folds them. She even offered to clean the bathrooms but I refuse because I want her to focus more on my bb boy and not to get tired doing the house chores.
I find my CL so far so good. I had heard plenty of stories about poor CL ie. "curi makan", lazy, do not attend to bb at nights, etc. I feel i am lucky because in fact i did not really discussed about her job scope when I booked her but it turned out ok and so far I am satisfied.
