Looking forward to going back to work too thereafter!! I've been away from work for 14 weeks! All the best to you. Everything will be fine. |

oh dear... well I suppose your next pregnancy you will have to get the cerclage between 12-14 weeks, then at least it is safer. If all is well, you should be able to go on with normal activities since it's not an emergent cerclage. All the best, and if you do need more advice maybe I can introduce my doctor to you, he's really good, but I'm in Penang. I'm 37 weeks today and my cerclage is still holding well eventhough I've been doing a lot of cleaning, shopping and even went back to office!!! Will have the cerclage removed this Monday

Hi mommies, My pregnancy consider high risk. My previous pregnancy also went through cerclage (Mcdonald sticth) and bedrest almost 6 months and took alot of jab (weekly visit to doctor) . My mum took care of me thro my pregnancy. Finally, delivered thro CC at 35 week and it a healthy boy (next year March 3 years old). Before this, i have 2 failed pregnancy that failed to carry to full terms (one at 20 weeks and one at 27 weeks). Now I pregnant again (haven't see doctor yet). I scare this time also the same - bedrest require and previously, doctor do inform me 2nd pregnancy also need to perform cerclage. Is anyone out there having the same problem and how to cope between your child and yourself? especially the child close to you. |

Hi Netteq, I'm doing bed rest too. Had bright red bleeding (like period) a week ago, and my doc deetected some bleeding in the placenta wall. So, HOUSE ARReST was ordered for a few days till bleeding stops. I was doing 60% bedrest. But today, some bleeding appeared again. Sigh... will probably extend my bedrest order. V bored at home too. Tired of watching astro repeats. Can memorise all the CNN news, E! and series. Finished 5 novels last week. Getting tired of surfing too. What to do... dont want my whole placenta to detach itself, do ? sigh... My hubby told me that at least i am not admitted into hosp for my bedrest, where there'll be no WIFI or astro or comfortable bed and shower. I'm 17 weeks pregnant, btw. My first pregnancy. AND I was soooo lookking forward to 2nd trimester after my severe 3 months morning sickness and nausea.
oh dear, that sounds pretty bad. I really really hope that everything will be fine. Better rest, nothing more important than a baby I guess. We ought to be patient. Hope you will have a better and smoothsailing pregnancy hereinafter. |

Thanks ladies... that's right. I guess I just miss the human interaction. i do feel selfish at times that I seem to be thinking about myself rather than count blessings that baby is alright. |

Hi. I know easier said than done. but do take the time given to you to rest. You could activate your mind by reading stuff you've always wanted to read - wh*t*ver topic you fancy. or surf the net. or as karen suggested catch up on all those movies you missed. or watch documentaries (oo.. i love nature docs) Or do creative stuff with your hands -like sewing, cross st*tching, patchwork. there must be something you like? for my first bb, even though i was pressed for time, i had the mood to st*tch my baby's name on all her hankies (and that's a lot! as bbies use a lot of hankies). Cheer up! |

Dear netteq, Take this as a holiday and time to rest, when the baby comes, you won't have time to sleep! If you are bored, try reading books, doing crossword puzzles or sudoku to ease your boredom. Maybe you can have TV in your room so you can watch movies. Find things you can do while you rest in bed. This is the sacrifice we need to make in order to ensure the baby comes into this world safely. Hope this helps. Take care! |

I was diagnosed with cervical incompetence 2 weeks ago (at 23 weeks pregnancy) after bleeding some blood clots. After an emergent cerclage (cervical st*tch) placed, I am not put on bedrest for 5 weeks. It has been complete boredom at home. I cannot do any housework, i miss working out at the gym, I even miss work!! I just eat, sleep and lie down the entire day. Even after I'm allowed to get back to work next month I'll be confined to desk job and still, no shopping, cleaning and gymming. So much for preparing for birth and getting baby's stuff ready. this bedrest thing is taking its toll on my mental wellbeing |
