i heard that Putrajaya even though it is so called Putrajaya, specialists are not even there.... in fact, senior govt officials prefer to go to Selayang Hospital instead.

a friend at 7 mths, had to deliver a set of premature twins @ Putrajaya. She delivered the 1st one then the second one, the doctor insisted to wait for the baby to come out itself as he had to go somewhere, waited for 30minutes, baby in distress, opt for emergency C-sect but baby stillbirth due to long delivery. My friend opted for lower range of Private Medical centre after that delivery.

All my pregnancies, the minute i found out of my preggy, I started saving up for my delivery. Thanked god I managed to deliver in Private Hospitals. Scary niah go Govt......

Do anyone delivery at this Hospital Serdang or Putrajaya before ?
Appreciate your sharing.
For my hubby's sake, we went to both hospitals to enquire when I was pregnant with my 2nd (I had a homebirth as planned). Both allow husband to be in the labour room. H.Serdang is very much cheaper becoz it's govt, something like RM10/nite. H.Putrajaya is semi-govt, charges would be ard RM500. I like H.Putrajaya's maternity ward. The atmosphere is warm & more cosy. The counter is in the centre with the maternity 'cubicles' surrounding it.

I have a HypnoBirthing mum gave birth in H.Serdang. She said that if u went in with dilation <3cm, u'll be placed in the maternity ward instead of the labour room (i.e. less ppl will disturb u). And if u have no complain of discomfort/pain, they would not bother u (i.e. avoid those irritating v*g*n*l exams). This mum had an all-natural gentle birth right there at the maternity ward (tak sempat to labour ward) becoz she was relax & when she realised the baby was coming, it was too late. So, her total bill was only RM20. The midwife/nurses did honour her birthplan. She recommended Dr.Hamilton (head of the obgyn dept) who is open-minded & supportive of HypnoBirthing.

Yes, Lotus is rite. The recep told me that nurses will be the one who attending to ur labor. But A fren of mine is so lucky that she was attended was doc when labor at HUKM. So, you were attended by nurses as well?

Lilean, I havent go to register yet. U wil only be allowed to register after 7 mths. I will go there to register within these 2 wks. U can view the putrajy hosp photos from the website. U try to search.

I got the price list with me at home, It's about the same as HUKM. RM400++ for normal & i think they hv single room.

Marg, I was told Selayang is the most popular/ good gov hosp in town. U are absolutely making a right decision. Unfortunately, I am staying far way frm it.
I am seeing a senior specialist called Dr.Param at Selayang hospital. He's about 60 I think. The pengarah told my husband that this specialist is back at the hospital for contract after retirement. He told me to call him when I am on my way to the hospital for labour, and not to let anyone including trainee, nurse, etc touch me before he comes. I hope this can really happen, as I am not too sure of the skills of the nurses there. Will feel more secure under his hands, I guess. I am staying at Sri Petaling somemore, is actually 1 hr, or if really no jam(half hour+) to the hospital. Asked him if I should worry about the distance and traffic when rushing there for labour, he said not to worry much coz first baby normally not so fast woh. Don't know yet, see how things go when the time really comes lo. But actually I prefer Gleneagles, I did nose operation there last year coz sinus, will feel more secure and comfortable there, but husband want me go gov hosp..
my case opp of yrs. hubby initially insisted i deliver at pvt but due to my complication risk in twins pregnancy and dr prediction of prem labour, i was prepared by dr myself to consider gov due to possibility of high hosp cost involved. accounts of my labour and experience with gov hosp can be found on my blog - http://j1ice.blogspot.com
If I had not been prescribed home rest at week 27 and went back to hometown, would have delivered at Putrajaya. Like lotus said, you need to be referred to the hosp by gov clinics. In certain cases like mine, dr may even write you a letter to get an appointment at putrajaya hosp itself to check up even before labour....to be continued, my 1st twin crying

For government hosp, if no complication, normally the nurses - midwives (bidan) to be specific, are the ones attending to your births. Doctor will only be off & on checking on you (if on his/her rounds) or when there is complication. Most of my frens were delivered by bidans in govt hosp. Unless you're seeing a specialist, normally the bidans are more experience than the doctors (who are usually quite new & young).

I'm not sure if you can just walk in to 'check' on facilities at Putrajaya or Serdang hospital. And you might even be turn off by their reception. Btw, both are govt hospitals. Putrajaya hosp is a reference hosp, meaning you have to be referred there. but for delivery of course they accept. what i meant is, if you want to go & have a check at the hosp before delivering, you might face a problem.

If you are doing your check up at klinik desa, just remember to bring your pink book when you need to deliver to either putrajaya or serdang hosp.

I delivered my first bb at putrajaya hosp, but i was already going for the monthly clinics at putrajaya clinic (2 different, very far apart places). yeah, they allowed husband into delivery area - while mom is in labour. As for serdang, i dont know.

My EDD is in Nov. I also opt for Putrajaya as I was told hb cant go into labor room at Serdang.
then have you go there for register ?

so far i'm doing monthly checking at klinik desa, do they accept ? what about you ?

i still confiousing coz some people say it is semi gov ?

Can you share the infor as you know abt this hospital ?

Are they got single room or what kind of room category ?

tq
My husband contacted both Serdang and Putrajaya hospitals regarding my delivery and checkup before. But finally I decided for Selayang coz got a senior specialist who can fulfill my requirements. The 2 hospitals are both government hospitals. Think both hospitals are quite new. As I know, HUKM is the semi gov one. I'll be due in early Nov too, going to Selayang hospital tomorow for 3rd checkup(twice a month nowadays). If you interested in Serdang or Putrajaya, why not go ahead and visit the hospital now to find out answers to your questions? Only left 2months+ for you to change hospital le...
