i had just delivered in TDMC. It was an induced delivery. The dr didnt ask me to shave before admission and the nurses also didnt say so when they attended me. Not sure whether it depends on how "bushy" down there before one is asked to shave ? :P For my case, i just delivered my bb, no shaving...
Hi,

I also have my monthly consultation in TDMC and wish to know if the facility in the medical centre and your delivery experience is okay there? I actually like the doctor but not sure of the facility there...would appreciate if you can share more..thanks

Well it is good to shave shortly before your EDD. My first experience, I delivered 4 days earlier than my EDD and it was emergency (ceasearian).    The nurse shave everything la..shame-shame ma..

from then, I shaved shortly befor my EDD. Thank God I delivered at Private hospital. They don't complain or bising2 at U. My friend delivered at govt. hospital, the nurse bising2 and said "apasal tak cukur dulu?"

Hi Nicole80,
I'm so glad you asked this question. When I had my first baby, I didn't know about the "preparations." They shaved me and gave me an enema.

With my next 2 pregnancies, I didn't bother about the shaving when I could not see "down there" anymore. However, if you read up a little bit more on the topic, whsoo is right by saying shaving and enema has long been considered unnecessary. However, I believe it is still the doctor's preference.

Cheers,
Ai Lian

Hi nicole80,
I'm so glad you asked this question. First time I had my baby at Seremban Chinese Maternity, I didn't realize there were "preparations" to be done.
The nurses gave me the shave and then also was given an enema. Like most mothers here, felt so "pai seh." I wondered, "why nobody talked about this before?"

With my next 2 pregnancies, I only shaved when I could still see "down there." When the tummy got too big, I didn't bother. But like whsoo said, if you read up on the topic a little, the shaving and enema has long been considered unnecessary. But I believe here it is still doctor's preference.

Cheers,
Ai Lian
