elective c-sect means planned c-sect. meaning you dont really wait until labour & try normal delivery first, then only if bb cant come out - then you do emergency c-sect. elective c-sect means you arrange wth your gynae the date that you want him to deliver your bb thru c-sect.

Hi all mommies,

I'm going to deliver in July and thinking of going to TDMC, anyone delivered there before? I want to know about the hosp. fees and services, currently I'm seeing Dr. Wong Choon Meng at his clinic at Sri Petaling.

Thanks.
Hi Erin,

I delivered my 2 girls at TDMC under Dr. Fan. Overall, their services are OK especially their midwives, they really help me alot during my deliveries. The fees for both deliveries cost me about 2K as i took their package RM1688(ie, 3D2N, panel gynae under TDMC, normal delivery & no complication, extra charges will be applied if you have xtra medication, delivered non-working hour etc). U may check with their customer service staffs, they will explain to u, however u have to checked with the staff is ur gynae (Dr.Wong Choon Meng) is their panel or not, else u r not ent*tled for the package. FYI, the package still valid as i just delivered my 2nd child 2 months ago. Hope this will help

TDMC tel # :03-79826500

elaine
Hi Elaine,

Thanks for your reply, I will check with my gynea first. I think the fees are quite reasonable as my friend who delivered at Sunway, stayed 3D2N twin sharing using nothing cost her Rm3100! Quite the big difference eh.

Thanks again,
Erin

they are providing a free delivery point nationwide (minimum order are required, i think).

anyone such of gift company in malaysia ?

Hi there I got mine from www.pepemom.com. I find these people were more negotiable and more friendly. I also enquired bundle of joy initially but was not satisfied with their customer service so opted with pepemom - btw they gave out additional stuff if you order more with them

Hello, Jean.

I've decided to deliver at Assunta as it is nearer and cheaper.

How much it costs for a routine check-up at PCMC? How much weight u hv gained so far and u baby as well? I've overweight even though I never eat a lot.

Hi Hui Woon,

I been PCMC check up for 3x, 1st x cost 70+, 2nd x 60+ and 3rd x cost 80+ cos I do the 3D scan. Last x at UMSC mostly all check up cost 90+.

I also decide in Assunta, same as you cheaper and nearer    If all on schedule then I will deliver on April 15 by C-section.

On my 1st pregnancy I totally gain 24kg (baby comes out 3.7 kg) then manage to get ride of 20kg in 6-8 months time and the rest 4kg still stick till my 2nd pregnancy    p
This time I gain about 12-14kg but still got a month plus to go so guess will still gain weight, but as long as baby comes out healthy, gaining weight is ok for me

Anyway, in future instead of here you can also contact by email me at: jean_acl@yahoo.com as from this I can access the yahoo website n reply from my handphone

Thanks SMLeong for your explaination. Since I'll be going to HUKM to deliver this time, your info is really helpful to me. (At least I wont cry my lungs out if my babies goes to NICU due to jaundice)!

At Pantai Cheras Hospital where I delivered my first daughter, NICU is only for emergency cases where babies can't breath or with some serious infection. Therefore it is really an ICU for babies and it is pretty scary when a baby had to admit to NICU for certain reasons. Therefore it cost almost RM1K per nite for my baby for special treatment.

For jaundice, babies will just place in normal baby room under the blue light in private hospital.

Hi,

Let me share my personal experience here.

Private Hospital
FOr normal delivery or c-sect, it is almost affordable if nothing happens. For my normal delivery (with epidural), it comes around. RM3300.

Goverment Hospital (HUKM semi private)
Normal: ~Rm600
C-sect: ~RM1600

My first delivery was in Pantai Cheras (private). Since there was a emergency where my baby was admitted to NICU for 6 days, it cost us RM8K+ in total.

So this time (2nd delivery), I plan to go to HUKM since i am carrying twins and there will be a higher possibility of having to stay in NICU. Can't afford to pay everything double, just in case anything should happen.

Just my thought.

may i know NICU stand for what? i only know ICU
NICU is the place that baby who is having jaudince(yellow) to take care, there is 24 hours(HUKM) and have private photo light to kill the yellowish. Both of my daughter face the problem.First was taken photo light at the room(4 years ago, that time no NICU) and second one was send to NICU for 3 days(last year in May, was admit after 2 days discharge.)Only parent of the baby allow to go in and it's 24hhours(my second daughter was admit 9pm and my husband and I was wait there until 1am.)I still remember that time she was in danger level(standard is below 200, but she was about 400).Doctor need to have double photo light and if the yellowish is still high or higher, she need to 'change blood' through 'pusat'.I was worry but lucky, her level drop until about    280 at 3am.She only need to continue take photo light until save level before discharge.

Actually if your baby need to take under photo, better pum out breast milk or give formula to reduce time at normal light. If a baby out of photo light for long time, yellowish will reduce very slow, my experience told me.My first baby is at my normal maternity room under myself take care and I frequent take her out for breast-feeding(30min) and change diapers(5min ) and her yellowish need to take more than 1 week to become under 200.My second daughter was under photo light and the nurse only take her out for feeding(around 10min) and change diaper(around 3 min), her yellowish become save level very fast, less than 5 days.I let the nurse take care of her, but I went to see her everyday in HUKM.Parents allow to see baby anytime.

The charges is about RM400 for 4 days(Monday night in and Thursday evening out) include photo light, feeding, but not include daipers(need to bring daipers and baby dress to NICU).

One advantage is all doctors, nurses and parents need to wash thier hand before tough the baby.I saw all people follow and I like this rule in HUKM's NICU.

Hi Elaine,
BB doing ok, it's nearing 5 months already. Now can play peekaboo with us and can laugh out loud when we chat or play with her. We are really enjoying our times with her these days.

Glad to hear everything turn out fine for you. 8k considered ok, normal already 4,300 and it's only 2d 1n. How's ur confinement so far?/ Everything ok?? I think maybe ur eldest is jealous of the newborn la...that's why he's a cry baby now!
