Agnes, sorry for replying late coz was not online for a long. My son is about 15month plus... I agree with Venice, don't scold baby. My friend didn't train her son but when her son was 2yrs + , all of a sudden one nite her son woke up and said he want to pee pee. He insisted to go toilet even though he was asked to pee pee in his diaper. After that, he is without diaper anymore.... |

Hi, I am a mum of a 9 months old girl. I used to use diapers only (mammy poko/ drypers) on my baby since she was born. Until recently I send her to a bbsitter, she uses nappy. This has not only improve her ventilation as well as save alot of $$. Just wanted to know mummies out there, do you all usually use diapers or nappy? Any good or bad experience to share with on either diapers or nappy? Has anyone already toilet train her bb at the age of 9 months? Can share experience?
I use both. Daytime - nappy, nite time/going out - diapers. Using diapers of coz it is much cheaper, btw nappy can help our bb skin to breath & also prevent from getting rashes & makes our bb miserable. As for diapers, it is handy & easy when going out/sleep - need not to change always. Now my bb does not wear nappy during her play time but only for her nap. She will informed us if she wants to answer d nature call, sometimes she will give us signal too such as she show a funny face/pulling her pants. My mum gave her toilet training since she was 2 weeks old by putting her on d potty & make d sound of "shuu...." for pee & "Mmm...." for poo poo. When she hear the specified sound, she automatically will follow. Of coz u have to make it a routine for her, for example: 1/2 - 2 hrs once for pee/every early in d morning after the 1st meal let ur bb do her business. Then ur bb will b an expert in potty training. |

I potty trained my girl when she was 2mths old,now she is 2yrs and 3mths old, sometimes she will say she want to poo poo or wee wee and sometimes she don't say at all but i don't scold or beat her as this will scare her. Most kids will do it by them self when they are ready. I personally feel that using nappy better than diapers as it gives more ventilation. |

My son wear nappy at babysitter but at home on disposable diaper. Since young, we will put him on the potty when he wake up from his sleep or nap and he will urine. When he keep quiet at one place with his funny face, we will faster put him on his potty to do his business. |

My little girl has been trained to wee wee into a potty since 2 months. Every 1/2 hour, she'll pass urine when we put her onto her potty. However recently (9months now), she has been very impatient and will cry whenever i put her onto potty. Like Michelle mentioned, maybe she is at their active mobile stage and doesnt like to be confine to a place for long. But when i distract her with a toy, she seems to forget to wee wee already even though sitting on it for quite some time |

me too, i use both, at the babysitter's house she use nappy only, even more "rajin" than me, he he...when evening time she only let my son wear diapers. I totally agreed with Michelle, have to let baby's skin expose to fresh air and feel fresh if use nappy. my confinement lady start to let my baby to use the potty when he came back from hospital. She said later my son won't reject the potty cos already get use to that. BTW, my son is 4.5 months now. |

Hi I use both. Cloth nappy and diapers. I use diapers when she sleeps or when we go out. Sometimes it is good to air her bum abit, so wear cloth nappy. I suppose it is more comfy for her but mummy need to change her often. As for toilet train, you can teach her by letting her sit on the potty. I know my gal hates it coz she don't like to be confine to one place. I try to attract her with toys. Just my 2 sens michelle http://mybabybay.com |
