Yes, I understand it. We need to patien when facing this kind of baby. But just can not imaging that before 3 or 4 month before she drink it very well and can not accepted it.
My girl is not having the deep sleep during the day time, she will only sleep at less than half and hours than wake up... most of the time she will be spoon feeding. Until the night time and her sleep in deep just will s*ck the milk.
I did give her cereal with for formula and porridge waterly.
Now my girl weight still in the range.
I still hope she will drink the milk like before... |

Just wnat to share my experience.
My son now is at 2 years old. From birth until around 3 months old, he drank a lot, which make him on top of the weight graph. But started from 4 months old onwards, he refuse to drink milk. I was worried then. I tried various method and I found out that he can actually drink during sleeping time. So whenever he started his nap (which usually 3 hours), I will give him milk. Just before he woke up, I will give him another time. If there's a long gap between the nap, I have no choice but spoon feed him. Yes, it is very difficult and requires lots of patients. But it's the only method he'll drink. I start to give him cereal at early stage, around end of his 4 months old. I found that he like the milk mix with cereal better. then I changed the flavour of the cereal frequently so that he won't be bored of the taste.
My son din wake up at the middle of the nite for milk. But, I wake up almost 3 ~ 4 hours just to give him a feed. Since he din drink in the morning, I just have to make sure he drink at night.
Even now, he is still the same. Very choosy in food and don't like to drink milk. But I guess I force a routine out of him and eventually he did ask for milk every night before he went to sleep.
Don't give up mummies! Yes, it will be very stressful & tiring. But once you get used to the routine, you'll feel easier. Nothing as compared to see your child growing up healthy & happily. |

I did try to change the milk. Since at first that she drink for wethy - S26, than change to enfalac than change it again to similac than change it to mameil gold. Since she still don't want to s*ck.
For bottle, currently she is in Avent.. and change it to another brand still don't want..
Is it any solution again? |

is it the milk? have you tried changing the milk? or the teat is different. some are softer/ harder.
or could it be the milk is too warm? since feeding with spoon is usually cooler than straight feeding from the bottle. try make the milk less hot. |

My baby now is 4 month.. start last saturday she refuse to drink her milk. Once the bottle put in her mouth she will not s*ck it. But for pacifer she will s*ck ooh... so how... now my mum only feed her using spoon with pacifer.. I try to change the bottle also same result.
When she hungry also don't want s*ck leh.. But at night when she sleep, she will s*ck ooh!
How to change her to s*ck her milk ah?

That's why he is all the while underweight and small size, I tried so many method, as advised from mommies in forum, to make him eat and drink more, but he is still the same - eat and drink very little (sigh...)
Can you imagine again, how myself was so frustrated and worry, I even blame myself is not a good mother...
Until my baby was 14 months, his appet*te has increased a little week by week till then his weight has increased also. Now my baby's teeth have grown out all, he is fast in growing teeth. May be his gum is pain previously and make him no appet*te..
May be all this is the growing phase for a baby.
Hope my sharing make you relief from your worries.

I changed so many brands of milk powder for my baby boy, hoping that my baby will drink, but he still refused. Even friends adviced me to let him drink when he is asleep, but once I put the teat inside his mouth, immediately he got up.. open his eyes and cry (sigh…)
I bought almost all brands of formula milk powder, of which, I can get from supermarket, all opened and left on the table just like that…
I even changed the milk bottle and teat, thought that different teat and milk bottle, then he will drink, but I was wrong, my baby still refused milk.
I did bring my baby to paed, the paed advised me to wait untill my baby is very very hungry, then let him drink. Yes, my baby drank, but only 2oz.. whole day only 2oz of milk.
I thought, when he reached 6 months, I let him take cereal with formula milk, hoping he is eating, but once my baby tasted the milk, immediately he refused. Then I have no choice, only add water to cereal, my baby ate the cereal, but no much. Here goes the same again, I let my baby tried so many types of cereal, he also didn’t eat much… (sigh…)
Same goes with porridge, my baby also ate a little everyday, only a few spoons. But one thing, my baby likes water a lot, he can finish 5oz of water at one go… his is very underweight. I was wondering what’s wrong with me??
Actually I did suffer from depression because of my baby refused to drink and eat..

hi joachim sorry fr the lte reply. i guess we r in the same boat.wat eevr u going through now im in the sam situation. bb weight only 5 kg.in my house so ma ny dif type of milk.i even go to diet*tion n they also sugest to change milk again. they gave me similac which is base on soys. same here when ever i put teat, she imidiately cry loud.now i change tactic, ia hev to make her sleepy then i can feed her slowly.
i also compare my self, n i do feel that im not a good mom after all. kinda stress.n one to refer too. lucky i join this forum. at least i know that my prob acttually of the b common prob.so i need not to blame my self.although some time i myslef do not know wat to ask n write bout my bb prob, coz sometimes i feel its onlly small pro, i guess im actually wrong, no matter how small its important to know.:P esp whe you are alone facing it.no one there to help.

my girl also went through that phase when she was about 6 months. i think starting with semi solids and teething does have something to do with it. my mom told me that babies just starting semi solid normally would not take milk or eat anything until they are really hungry. for my girl's case, it was 6-7 hours in between her feeding at first. i was also frustrated in finding solution, but after a while, her appet*te went back to normal again. maybe u should give your child some time to adjust and get use to changes. not every child is the same but just try to be patient with your child. that's the phase of growing up i guess. but if u suspect your child is not feeling well, or sick, do bring him/her to paed immediately. good luck. |

Dear Joachim,
Any improvement to your baby? As my baby started to development the same symptom any I'm very worry and can't concentrate on my work as well and busy looking for solution. Waiting for your reply.
